Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Succession Navigator respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly and securely.

This Privacy Policy explains how Succession Navigator collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you visit our website, contact us, use our services or use the Succession Navigator platform.

We handle personal information having regard to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

Information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

When you visit our website or contact us, we may collect information such as your name, business name, email address, telephone number, professional role and information you choose to provide through an enquiry, booking or contact form.

If you become a Succession Navigator reseller or user, we may also collect account information, billing information, usage information, support requests and records relating to your use of the platform.

The Succession Navigator platform may contain information about individuals, families, businesses, assets, relationships, succession objectives and other matters entered by authorised users as part of a succession planning engagement. Some of this information may be sensitive or confidential.

How we collect information

We generally collect information directly from you when you contact us, register for an account, purchase a service, attend training or consulting sessions, use the platform or otherwise communicate with us.

Information within a client succession planning engagement may also be provided by an authorised reseller, adviser, family member or other participant.

Our website and platform may automatically collect limited technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, login activity and system usage information for security, reliability and operational purposes.

How we use information

We use personal information to operate and improve Succession Navigator, provide software and services, administer accounts and subscriptions, provide training and support, respond to enquiries, process payments, maintain security, communicate with users and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information.

We do not use family or client information entered into Succession Navigator for unrelated advertising or marketing.

Succession Navigator resellers

Succession Navigator is generally provided through independent professional practices and advisers.

Where a reseller uses Succession Navigator with its own clients, the reseller remains responsible for its professional relationship with those clients and for ensuring that it has appropriate authority to collect and enter information into the platform.

Succession Navigator provides the technology and associated facilitation and practice-support services. We do not become the client's accountant, lawyer, financial adviser, mortgage broker or other professional adviser merely because the platform is being used.

Artificial intelligence

Succession Navigator uses artificial intelligence and automated technologies to assist with functions such as transcription, information analysis, meeting support, summarisation and workflow assistance.

We design our systems to minimise the amount of identifying information submitted to AI services. Direct identifiers, including names, may be replaced with internal identifiers where technically appropriate before information is processed by approved AI services.

We use commercial AI services under business arrangements designed so that submitted customer information is not used to train general-purpose AI models.

AI-generated information is intended to assist human users and should be reviewed by the relevant professional before being relied upon.

Storage and security

Succession Navigator's primary application database is hosted in Australia.

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss and misuse. These measures include encryption, controlled user access, system logging, backups and security monitoring.

No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the information we hold. Australian privacy principles require organisations covered by them to take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Service providers and overseas processing

We may use trusted third-party service providers to operate parts of our business, including hosting, communications, payment processing, monitoring, transcription and artificial intelligence services.

While our primary database is hosted in Australia, some service providers may process limited information using infrastructure located outside Australia.

Where Australian privacy law applies to an overseas disclosure of personal information, organisations may have obligations concerning the way overseas recipients handle that information.

We will update this Privacy Policy as our service-provider arrangements develop.

Cookies and website technology

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, understand website usage, maintain security and improve the user experience.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling some cookies may affect website functionality.

How long we keep information

We retain information for as long as reasonably required to provide our services, maintain appropriate business and compliance records, meet contractual or legal requirements and manage legitimate security or dispute-resolution requirements.

Client information held within Succession Navigator may be retained in accordance with the account and archival arrangements selected by the reseller.

Where information is no longer required and there is no legal or legitimate reason to retain it, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. APP 11 includes obligations concerning both the security of personal information and whether it remains appropriate to retain it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You may contact us if you would like to request access to personal information we hold about you or believe information should be corrected.

Where the information forms part of a client file managed by one of our resellers, we may refer the request to the relevant reseller where appropriate.

Privacy concerns and complaints

If you have a question or concern about how we handle personal information, please contact us using the details below.

We will review privacy enquiries and complaints and endeavour to respond within a reasonable period.

If Australian privacy law applies and you are not satisfied with our response, you may also have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Succession Navigator develops, our technology or service providers change, or legal requirements change.

The current version will always be published on our website with its most recent update date.
